A 1993 graduate of Martin Luther High School in Greenfield, WI, Johnson currently attends Mount Scenario College in Ladysmith, WI. In his senior year of high school, Johnson was the 1993 Wisconsin State Wrestling Champion at 189 lbs. In his professional Muaythai debut in January 2000, Johnson earned a thrilling victory over hometown favorite Wade Irwin in Winnipeg, Canada. Johnson began training in April of 1998 at the renowned Duke RUOFUS' International Fighter's School, located in Milwaukee, WI. He is co-managed by RUOFUS and Scott A. Joffe of Ad Cetera Sports Celebrities, Milwaukee. A former Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps elite Recon Unit (1993-97), Johnson saw active duty overseeing peacekeeping efforts in Port au Prince, Haiti, worked security with the U.S. Border Patrol's Joint Task Force in Mexico and toured Scotland and England, where he trained with the prestigious British Royal Marines. Johnson's most notable win came on December 9, 1999 in Bangkok, Thailand when he, as his European opponent's coach proclaimed, "showed the heart of a lion," and willed himself to a spectacular, come-from-behind victory in the finals - thus earning the W.M.C.'s respected World Championship Gold Medal. With his sights set on a career in Federal law enforcement, possibly with the FBI, Secret Service or as a U.S. Marshall, Johnson has set his professional goals on representing America as the International K-1 Champion. Johnson feels it is important for him to be an ambassador of the sport as well and he is always happy to spend time with his fans. Jason Johnson would like to be remembered as a smart and fair competitor who always fought far beyond his ability. |
